Gold Ingots Made Easy

Throughout history, man has always been fascinated with gold. With its brilliant shine and rich, warm tones, not to mention its constantly high value, understanding why it quickly began to symbolize wealth and prosperity is easy. Nowadays, gold is considered a real store of value, offering safety against inflation and almost any type of economical crisis.

Precious metal bars come in a great variety of shapes and sizes. The largest one ever made weighs 250 kilograms and went on display in the year 2005, being produced by a subsidiary of Mitsubishi. One of the most popular types of bars is the London Good Delivery Bar; it has a weight of 12.4 kilograms and is mostly used by banks and other large investors, because of its high price.

Gold ingots come in many shapes; the most common are round, square or rectangular, but there are also pieces with special shapes, such as a heart or a doughnut. You can also find them in many sizes: the smallest ones weigh up to 1 gram and are mostly bought as gifts or collectible items. The larger ones, such as the kilobar, are very popular and more available to the majority of investors, because they have a rather small premium and are easy to store and resell.

Another type is the kilobar, which weighs exactly 1000 grams. These are normally traded at an extremely low premium, which makes them very popular among investors. Usually, they have a flat "international" shape, but some manufacturers also issue them in the shape of a brick. You can also find larger gold bars, such as the London Good Delivery bar which, at 12.4 kilograms and a value of up to 300,000 USD, are mostly suitable for large investors and are kept in bank vaults.

The important thing to keep in mind is that buying them is not an easy job, because there are many things to consider. The market is currently loaded with fake gold and not all dealers are perfectly honest, so make sure you choose your seller well. Always ask to see the certification of the piece you're buying and thoroughly analyze the market before making the purchase. In the end, it all comes down to your profit and the choice you make will have a lot to say in this matter.
