Research Traits of Regional Centers Before Using Your Investor's Visa
If you have opted to put your eb5 visa, also acknowledged as an investor's visa, to work at a regional center, it is now time to decide on the one you wish to work with. There are roughly 75 in the United States as of 2009, and more are being developed every month. Before you go through the arduous job of choosing a regional center, you should know the top few details to find out about every center.
When you first sign up for the investor's visa process, you will acquire a conditional green card. This means that certain conditions must be attained before you get a permanent card. In many cases, you will get the permanent card after you have invested at least $500,000 in a regional center and helped create at least ten full time jobs. You then have a possibility of being a permanent resident a few years later.
Obviously, you want to receive the permanent green card via the eb5 visa program, but to do so, you must first meet the conditions explained in the investor's visa program. Make sure the regional center you select will help you develop ten jobs, and ensure that it can occur quickly. The sooner you do so, the earlier you will get the permanent green card.
Another aspect to consider is what the chances are of you acquiring a profit from the center you choose. No project can promise a profit for investors, but the centers with the most business-savvy officials often have the best record making a profit. A project that is well thought-out and necessary for the vicinity usually has the best chance of making cash in the long run. If you cannot afford to lose the money you invest, you should not go the investor's visa pathway. However, one of your hopes should be to make money so that you do not have to work once you enter the United States, and researching regional centers thoroughly before you invest can help make that dream come true.
Having a lot of interest in the project can be a fun aspect. On your search for regional centers, keep in mind the plans that you are somewhat intrigued by. They may be about a topic you are interested in, based in a community that you hope to succeed, or just unique enough to get your attention. If you choose a project that you wish to succeed for reasons other than making a profit, you will feel an additional sense of pride when it is over.
You can perform a lot of of this research from your computer. However, often visiting regional centers and talking with officials can help you see if you connect well with a specific project. You can also ask for your immigration lawyer's assistance in choosing a center at which you may use your investor's visa.
