Things You Need To Know About The Giant Panda Pure Gold Coin
Many persons have a real passion for collecting coins. Some appreciate finding and owning old coins from different countries which offer them a view on the historical and social events which happened in the past. There are coins dating back even two thousand years and they are very valuable for collectors but when they are made of precious metals their value is higher.
For the most serious of collectors many countries mint special editions of gold or silver coins. When they buy gold bullion they also become the owners of limited edition items. The Giant Panda coin is one of these special coins.
China Mint created these coins in honor of one of their national symbols which is also an endangered species. The first edition was issued in 1982 and it consisted of several coins with different weighs and values. The 99.9% purity of their gold and the fact that they are uncirculated make them very precious collectibles.
Collectors were fascinated by the Panda gold coins because China Mint decided to change the images with the bears on every new edition. For the most passionate collectors they also minted proof coin sets. The pictures of the panda bears have changed from the first one where a bear is sitting and eating bamboo leaves to others which show a Panda mom with her cub, or two bears enjoying their leaves. The scenes illustrated are part of the real life of Panda bears, most of them being images of bears eating because they actually spend a lot of time eating to grow as big as they are and to manage to survive. The other side captures an image of The Temple of Heaven in Beijing.
Yearly new editions are waited for with impatience. Collectors are very fond of the idea that they can purchase a different coin every year. They were the once who convinced China Mint to change their mind when they decided to freeze the design. The same picture appears on the coins minted only in two years.
As collectibles Giant Panda pure gold coins are very precious. They are appreciated for their value as gold bullion and also for the accurate and realistic images on them. Collectors owning them are always pleased with their investment.
